Does anyone know about hang on skimmers?

I started my protein skimmer back up last night around nine. I didn't use it for about five weeks. So I cleaned it out and started it up again and it started up just fine. Bubbles r going in the water and stuff but it still has not collected anything. And the bubbles still haven't broken up and gotten clear yet. I'm not sure on what to do cuz I'm new to this and my friend put it together for me and he moved to Maine and has no phone. So I don't know what to do.

Can you post a pic of the skimmer? It could still be braking in I suppose? And I'm not sure what you mean by this below in bold

i had a read sea hob that use to take a couple a days before it started colecting anything and was a pita to set what kind do u have?

Can you post a pic of the skimmer? It could still be braking in I suppose? And I'm not sure what you mean by this below in bold

U know when u look where the water is being collected and u see the tiny bubbles at the top and then the bottom is clear. We'll nothing's clear the whole collector is filled with bubbles still.

really just give it time, it can take a week to collect just make sure you are seeing bubble. What will happen is the proteins will break down causing them to bubble up more and work up the collection tube and spill over into the cup.

The person that gave it to me is not really in Maine I just said that cuz I didn't feel like explaining he's my neighbors brother and he's always over but he's so lazy that he would neverrr come and just look at it for me to make sure it's working correctly. So I just said it was a random person that moved to Maine so that no one said oh just go ask ur neighbor then cuz that's not an option this kid is wayyyy to lazy for something as simple as that.
