Help me decide

So I have a 95 gallon in the works and have been trying to think of what I want to stock it with. Originally I planned on making it full blown reef, probably SPS dominant. However I recently was thinking maybe instead take another turn and stock it with some fish I always wanted but never been able to keep in my 40b reef tank and just do softies and LPS if possible? Here is the list of fish..

Puffer fish (porcupine preferably)
Box Fish
clownfish w/anenome
Trigger
angelfish, preferably a large one though live aquaria says most require 180+ gal tank
Lionfish (fuzzy dwarf preferably)

I need to research more on compatibility, reef safeness, etc but just wanted to get some of your thoughts. Is this possible or am I just dreaming? :)

Do it with the fish, so much funnier to watch. Liveaquaria.com tells the compatibility of any fish you search, to reef aquariums. I have 20 in my 90 and it is thriving very well. Total of all fish added up over the year. Good luck and enjoy!

Just watched your Youtube video of your 90. Looks good! I think the hardest part if I decide to go the fish route would be convincing the wife that I'm going to also keep my 40b reef tank setup. ;)

That ones easy, tell you need it as your QT. Good luck!

Puffer fish (porcupine preferably) get way too big for that tank
Box Fish will nibble on Coral, and of stressed can release toxins into the tank
clownfish w/anemone no problem here
Trigger depends on which trigger, a most will outgrow the 95 gallon
angelfish, preferably a large one though live aquaria says most require 180+ gal tank as LA states most require a large tank at least 180 gallons and almost all nibble on Coral
Lionfish (fuzzy dwarf preferably) no problem as long as tank mates do not fit into its mouth

I would do a FOWLR and keep some cool stuff.... Dogface Puffer, Smaller Angel like Majestic, smaller Trigger like Sargassum ???

When sites like LA say "not reef safe" am I correct in assuming they mean primarily SPS? Would I be ok keeping some easy to care for corals like mushrooms, leathers, etc? Thanks B. I may swing by the shop this weekend and we can talk more if your not too busy. :)

When stated "not reef safe" that can mean any number of things, from its going to pick at your Zoas/palys or take chucks of your SPS, or can kill of you CC in a matter of days. You really have to decide from the foundation up when you plan any type of tank. Research every fish and what they will pick on.

Ok thanks. That's what I figured but thought I'd ask. :)

What are the dimensions of the tank? As B noted, most of the fish on your list grow too large for what you are planning. You still have plenty of great options though!

It's a 95 gallon wave front tank. Dimensions are roughly 48" x 24" x 25"(L,W,H) and it will have a 40g for sump.
