will they recover from the fight?

I must say I am new here and even though I haven't asked any questions I have found a ton of useful information. That being said I think part of the problem is sometimes these questions can not be answered through a simple post. To give educated response you need background info on tank, maintenance schedule. Then it still maybe hard to give a definitive answer.

Think about it if your child has a fever you wouldn't call a doctor and expect them to diagnose them over the phone. They are going to tell you to bring them in so they can check them out and look into the child's history.

So far I gathered in this hobby there are magic fix all solutions and no tank setup is the same or react the same.

Inherent in this analysis is motivation.
Folks who want to sell things are motivated and will post their threads. Folks that want to buy will respond. Lots of action there.

Reef talk? Where's the motivation? People are motivated to post a thread when they have a question. Responses are at the whim of the readership. Some folks will respond. Some folks will read and bemuse "this has been asked and answered 100 times in the past 5 years." Some folks will read and realize they have no good advice. Motivation here is key. Is there a resident expert just dying to respond to questions on coral turf wars? Not that I know of.

Traffic in Reef Talk has died down in recent years as the recession took its toll. Meanwhile people getting out have been selling like crazy, and those looking to pick up a bargain has ensured the marketplace forums see plenty of action. Just the way things go.

As far as cliques, it's always easier to respond to people you know on the boards. Since I've been getting out again and meeting folks, I check out their threads with a little more interest, since I know their tank situation. If I don't know much about their tanks? I don't have much advice to offer. It's easier when I've met the person at a meeting, and especially if I've seen their tank, rather then guessing about a stranger's situation. Thus, those are the threads where I offer better advice.

To the OP, you made your post 7/05/2014 11:10 AM, Delta responded minutes later, you then blast BRS on the 8th at 06:13. This all happened during the 4th of July weekend one the most travelled holidays we have. We do not have summer meetings for this very reason. IMHO you need to go stir some other pot and not BRS. Now that I said that here is some help for you in life and reefing.

"I see Boston Reefers is still just a farmer's market to buy/sell stuff. No one has an opinion or experience here on the subject?" Those statements are not the way to go about getting help. you might want to invest in a good coral book, or study up on what you put in your tank before you make a statement like that. We all need help time to time but really give the good people of BRS a weekend off to enjoy the 4th and remember patience is a virtue. You made a mistake hell we all do. I let a BTA get to close to a nice Red Dragon mini of mine and overnight it killed it off. I fragged a few of the tips and carried on. I knew my mistake going in and hoped for the best, it was misplaced hope, I was just too lazy to move the nem that night and paid the price. What I am saying is know what you do before you do it. In today’s world it is easy to find the answers before you do almost anything. If you are just relaying on BRS then you are in the wrong, no one source should ever be relied on solely there are just too many tools out there so pack your toolbox and avoid a lot of the mistakes others have made and stop the trying to cause drama that you wanted to cause in my club with that statement.

yeah but if you look at the market vs the turn over rate of people in and out of the hobby as well as upgrade and downgrade, the club mission statement and the fact that the majority of topics have been done 100 time over (including this topic) it makes a lot of sense, meaning much of the information you need can be found in a simple search.

So your assessment isn't very accurate as you failed to input many other factors

The BRS also run 10-12 meeting a years at which they bring in speaker from all over the country (sometimes further) run raffles, library, air meter, light meter, cookouts, then on the site there are photo contests, grow out contests etc etc and of course the Auction. Never mind the hands that will help you when you need.

You can take an outside look or you can see what Mr X posted about what I say frequently, while I have no problem with you voicing your opinion I will give you mine as well. And mine is if you are not going to give the BRS a real trial run then don't judge a book by its cover as you really have no idea what the club has to offer. My biggest issue (meaning I just do not understand) is so many are missing out on what this club has to offer.
nail on the head Delta , that is what I was trying to say . This club has tons to offer and I for one love it , made some friends learned a ton so far and it has inspired me to keep reefing even building a dual 210 system right now .

Could not agree more!

I see there's still a handful of children fighting in sandboxes crying over spilled milk on this forum.

I forget which member has the Signature, but one say s"Relax, it's just a fish forum." You guys need to remember that.

Lol, you think this site is full of people you can't get along with, try YouTube or Instagram, lol. THAT'S where the rude people are.

I personally love this site and the people on it and would never of had a tank and stayed in the hobby, nevermind sucessfully, if it were not for this forum.

Delta, you said it perfectly! =]
