2 wp40?
2 wp60
or one of each.?
I am building my first 6ft build and want to make sure I have ample flow throught the whole tank. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Freddy

Depends on what you want to keep , how big a return pump you run and what size 6 ft tank. I have a WP60 and an RW 20 in a 210 sps tank. The other tank has a Wp40 and an old koralia along with return lines for lps also a 210

I had 2 WP40s in my 6' 125. I have since replaced them with MP40s. Both provided sufficient flow for SPS IMO. If you are talking about a larger tank (180+), you may want/need the extra flow from the WP60s.

I have 2 Tunze 6105 running on my 64"x32"x24".
Depending on the width and the height of the tank and if the tank is wide, MP60 would probably be better.

Go with the RW15's or RW20's if you are using Jebao pumps, they are much better then the old WP series.

Ok so the tank is a 125 gal.
and as for return pumps they are next on my purchase list when I do the plumbing. Haven't figured out if I am plumbing to basement or to a large closet right next to the tanks location. So when I figure that out I will need to figure out what size return pump to use.
So right now I am trying to pick up little things during these sales that I will know i will need. Tank is 6ftx18inx2fttall.
I would love to have a little of both LPS and sps. Advice is always helpful since this will be by far the largest reef I have built. Ty

I would say one MP40 on each side would be plenty.

Again not to sure on the rock work set up but just want to know if I buy 2 wp40 that either both at full amp or under would be enough. Ty for the info

Does anyone know off hand what the cost difference between the wp40 s to the new rw20 s. Total for 2 of each and price difference between the pairs

I would stick with the 40's in a 125 or the RW15 a RW20 will be way too much . you can make whitewater with those lol

K now I am gonna look up the cost difference between the wp40 and rw15. I do like new model. Has anyone tried the jebao apex component??

Don't get the WP series pumps, the holder sucks and they are having a much higher problem rate.
The RW series is a much better setup, the holder is actually attached to the pump so the pump can't fall out or move as easy on it's own. There have been much fewer reports of failures, but of course they are newer.

For the $15 price difference.........the RW is a much better pump.

I totally agree with going with the RW over the older WP models. If you are still interested in getting some RW pumps and you purchase today we will honor the sale price from last night.

I also like the RWs. They have a much gentler flow pattern and more closely resembles the top end pumps. The RPs are fire hoses.

Personally if it was me, I'd get 2 riptides and mount them vertically

...stupid auto correct

So before I place the order for 2 RW 15s I want to make sure that no matter of amount of rock work if running at the right % of power would it be enough for a 6ft 125 gal.. I wouldn't want to order these and find out its to much or not enough?? Lol ty for the help guys!!
