Finally enjoying my tank
I watched it again and I wish I had an eye placing my rock. I have a couple pieces I must have moved 10 times and I am still not happy. I may have to try a different piece.

Thanks! Next meeting in Taunton you will need to come over again. My next project is to re-do my sump and install a new pump. Klaus Jansen of Royal Exclusive is sending me his new RD3 Speedy 230watt DC pump to try and it's arriving Tuesday. Nobody in the country has it yet and I can't wait. I haven't been happy with the sump and basement arrangement since the Dialyseas died. I've also been looking for an energy efficient dependable pump forever. This one should last a decade and I will probably be running it at 100 watts or less. So I'm going to get rid of the stock tank sump and replace it with either a commercially made one or a 100 gal pond like my frag tank. I can't decide which to do. The pond tank would save a lot of money but the commercial sump would be oh so much cooler.

I have 2 DC pumps going in my new tank, and I think they are worth the added cost. On my skimmer you just hear the bubbles in the cylinder. The overflow in my tank is silent as well.

That has to be the best one year old tank I've ever seen and the aquaticscape is top notch great job, real reefer and reef tank there!!!

Hey thanks. I've been pretty impatient to see those little frags grow. Since I look at it every day I don't really see much change until I look at the vid from last year. I still can't get over that little watermelon millie frag that looks exactly as it did the day I got it a year ago! I feed it all the time and it still just sits there. It's in suspended animation or something.

Yes it sure looks like one. When I bought it the LFS called it a "melanuras type" wrasse. The tail looks more like a melanuras, but the rest looks like a dusky.

Awesome tank! Such a good idea putting the powerheads hidden in the scape, looks a lot cleaner than on the glass. I may just steal that idea haha

They are ugly no matter where you put them. I'm surprised someone hasn't contrived a powerhead that looks like a rock. It shouldn't be that hard. Or at least a cover to camouflage them. The Tunze rocks are terrible.
