Tamara is there any correlation to times of season where cyanobacteria is more prevalent? I know there are some mind stories out claiming this but have not found anything citing which could confirm this.

I haven't found anything scientific, but IMO YES!!! I see it at the same times every year.
me too. it seems like the sign of bacteria overwhelms the good bacteria in the tank at the specific times of year. I have found if you let it alone long enough, it actually will go away in my experience. I know that Sino bacteria has been on the Earth for millions of years and is definitely not going away lol

Very interesting to note that Cyano Bacteria is to blame for red or “watermelon snow” that has been photographed across the globe on mountains. This can be observed during certain times of year.
