Just got my hands on a large tank and want to to a aluminum stand instead of wood looking for suggestions on company to have a stand made

Help space man move his 1000 in place and saw his stand which is y I’m going that direction
I’m sure Brian will respond when he is on

I got my stand from tenecor. It wasn’t a custom size, however I do believe they will do custom.

I measured and had all pieces fabricated by Framing Technologies. I wanted mostly hidden hardware, heavy duty extrusions, and a few gussets, as well as adjustable feet.

What are your tank dimensions and total weight (tank/rock/water)?

I enjoyed working with them. It is probably 1/3 more money than building with wood, but is infinitely configurable and will last forever. I also love that I can just keep attaching more things to it (doors, equipment mounts, etc).

I talked to Mike privately he sent me a message. I loved the company i used called alufab was great to deal with told them then tank dimensions and height i wanted the stand. They asked about sump clearances and came up with a great design sent to me blueprints and they made it shipped and the assembly instructions were great. No guessing no calculations on weight and its what I wanted. The price was also great! There the company that builds tidal gardens stands also

+1 on this. I used Alufab for my stand also. After watching Tidal Gardens Vids on their stands. Really ease to deal with.

It 200 custom from coast to coast that’s never been used and she is a heavy girl the tank has to be 500+ tank dimensions are 60”x30”

If you can afford it, Alufab or framing tech will do the calcs for you and design you a stand.

Me, I knew the rough numbers, and the cost of going with heavy duty extrusion was way less than the cost of having someone design me the stand, so I just did it myself.

If the process intimidates you I'd just have them do the design/cuts/ship you what you need. Assembly is easy.

Was just looking at the company u mentioned and it the stuff we use to use at the expo center to build the Boths with

yeah is very common now to build with it. Easy to attach things like light bars, shelves, etc.

Overall I am very happy with it and would do it again with extrusions if I had the chance.

Big thing to consider if your tank is large is the pounds per square inch on your floor from the six or eight feet you might use on your stand. Want to make sure your floor/subfloor can handle that. I had to put 1/2" thick steel supports running front to back on each of my feet to spread the load across three joists, otherwise even the 3" diameter feet would have punched through my hardwood floor/subfloor.
