Moving tank to CT

I'll be moving to New Haven, CT soon and need to figure out a way to move a tank there from Ipswich. The tank in question is an empty 4 foot 70 gallon tank along with its stand. It can barely squeeze into my car with the stand but it's a really big effort and I'd like to try to avoid it, especially as it's such a tight fit that I can't properly cushion it and the drive is 3 hours away.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to do this on a budget? I asked a few moving companies but the cost was too high because they don't really care that I just want the tank moved and nothing else. Perhaps you know of a local store or other service that can help with that sort of thing?

That could work except that I'd still need to get someone to move the tank for me, as it's quite heavy for even 2 people and I don't want to burden friends with such a big load. Plus it would be nice to have professionals that will be more careful with it. But if I can't find something better at a reasonable enough price I will probably do as you suggest and see if a couple people I know could help me...
