I believe I've decided to run with your NANO Remora. Sounds like it's getting great reviews.

Will there be or is there a surface skimmer attachment for the NANO? If so, what are/will the dimensions be?

Thanks for the message, I can help you out. The Remora surface skimmer designed for the Maxi Jet 1200 will work with the Nano / Maxi Jet 900 combo. The dimensions are 8.25 x 7.25 x 2.5" (L x H x W). Thanks again, and let me know if you have any other questions!

I do have another question that Google isn't helping me with. How much area is required for mounting the Nano?

You'll need a minimum opening of 5.25" x 1.5" in the top of the tank. The Nano is 6" wide, so you'll need at least that much space between other filters or hang-ons behind the tank. Thanks again, and let me know if you need any other dimensions!

I'm going to make room for the skimmer. It will be tight but worth it. Hope to be able to sneak the heater in the return half of the skimmer. Filter media also fits in the return half of the skimmer, that's a huge plus.

Don't use the skimmer box use a surface skimmer the skimmer box leaves alto to be desired. It is marginal at surface skimming and the smaller the pump the worse it is.

Here is a surface skimmer, cheap too

Interesting....

I can't find specs on it but it looks like(call me crazy/hopeful) it's self-adjusting to water level?

Not sure what you consider local since you don't have your location listed  , but I know Tropic Isle sells them, actually at a decent price too. I would bet some of the other sponsors sell them as well, you could call around and ask. They'll know what you're looking for if you ask for a surface skimmer attachment. It should cost about $10.

I guess, even though this is a Boston/MA forum that I should post my location. :D Thanks for the tip!
