Spagetti Worms

I now have many for sale. The price is FREE. you gotta get them out of my tank though..

Seriously though.. Should I be worried about these little sand buggers? There are more now than say 2 months ago... Are they harmful?

They may not be the most attractive critters, but they're nothing to worry about. They'll help clean up any food/crap/etc...that falls within their reach.

Are Spagetti Worms the same as bristle worms?

No, spaghetti worms make bristle worms look pretty. All you see of the spaghetti worms are numerous small strands 1"-2" coming out of the sand or hole in a rock.

No, they are quite different. they are called spaghetti worms because they have long squigly legs that come out of the sand and grab whatever they find that falls near them to eat. Bristle worms are just worms with little legs that crawl around on rock and under the sand. Maybe someone can post pics of both so you can see.

I have a ridiculous amount of these in my tank. The one issue with them I've seen is that they can irritate zoas.

I had one living under a colony of zoas with it's legs coming out between all of them. I found out he had moved in when all of them closed up for three days straight. I had to peel the zoas off the rock, put them on a disk and move them.

I have had allot of bristle worms but never seen the Spagetti Worms. As much as people don't like seeing the worms, I think it's great to turn on a flash light at night and see them all come out at night. The kids get a kick out of seeing them as well. The bristle worms never bothered anything in my tank.

Wow...you have cool striped ones...... mine are boring plain white spaghetti worms.....

I agree they ones you posted the pic of are cool looking. Are they something I would want to add to my tank?
