Thats kinda funny i received the same book from my kid's for Xmas yes it's limited but still a nice book.

The Reef Aquarium III. You don't need volumes I and II, volume III has just about everything in it. Very thorough, very complete. Not a trivial read through, this is a very large book.

I second this, I use these exact books extensively.

As well as
Aquarium Corals - Eric Bornneman

Reef invertebrates - Anthony Calfo & Robert Fenner

If you have a Nano and want a nice easy read with a bunch of pictures I suggest "The Nano-Reef Handbook" by Chris R. Brightwell. Hardcover, 192 pages.

The Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Bob Fenner.

I just picked this up a few weeks ago and love it so far.

I also picked up The Complete Book of the Marine Aquarium by Vincent B. Hargreaves. For the price I had to get it and it has alot of good stuff in it.

"Aquarium Corals" is a good one, "Corals of the World" (Jen Veron) is even better IMO, especially for those interested in taxonomy, if I am not mistaken Veron is widely accepted as the foremost athourity in this area, the book reflects this.

>if I am not mistaken Veron is widely accepted as the foremost athourity in this area<

Yup, and word is he will be speaking at a club meeting this summer!

calfo's guide to coral propagation is a great read.Plenty of great ideas you can apply to your own reef

With out a doubt, Scott Michael's fish book. I flip through it all the time and take it in the LFS with me. In fact, I was even thinking about purchasing a second copy to leave in my glove box.

Coral by Julian Sprung.
Straight forward with beautiful pictures. I like pictures.

I'm bringing this thread back from the dead. :)

I want to buy another book but I'm having a hard time deciding what to get. Right now I have Calfo's Book of Coral Propagation and Fossa and Nilson's The Modern Coral Reef Aquarium vol. 1.

I'm looking for a book with lots of info and I think I can handle something in the more advanced range. I'm certainly no afraid of reading! So I am looking at getting The Reef Aquarium vol 3, Marine Invertebrates: A PocketExpert Guide, or Aquarium Corals. I see that all three are "recommended" but I want something to compliment rather than repeat what I already have.

Thanks.
