What a mess....

Jay, this totally sucks. I think I could hear your pain over in Hudson. :p

Wow that is the worst news i've heard in a while. That wicked sucks!

Did better than that....got the green light to drill through the wall, then tie in this system to the 92. No more main floor water changes...... :D

Oh, and I re-bought a clam from TomD :D

You should just start breaking everything down now, and have your wife bring it to work a little at a time, and give it to my wife!! I'll put it to good use I promise!!! :D

I got a better idea...come on over and help me plumb the new pipes :D

This weekend works......I've got cold beer, how about Saturday night?

i can't belive that when i work in sheetrock we used to fill those things like crazy. i hope u get everything cleaned up ok and i hope everything works out in the end.

I've got 42 more gallons mixing next to the tank in the same bucket as last night....BUT NO DOLLY THIS TIME!!!!!!

It ticks me off to lose the 40+ gallons of RO/DI, the salt and dowflake and the wasted watts to circulate and heat that water, not to mention the wear and tear on my back hauling it all upstairs.....

That exact same thing happened to me, but I was using a plant dolly (how dumb is that??). It dumped 40g of water all over the wall-to-wall carpet in my tank room. I ended up ripping out the carpet. Now I'm going to tile in there.;)

Wow, that SUCKS. I was at HD yesterday looking at those dollies. I tried putting the 44 gal. Brute barrel (round, thick gray plastic - $40) and it wobbled on the dolly. This particular barrel apparently wasn't meant to sit on top of this dolly. So I asked if they were getting the proper dolly in anytime soon. Still, I had a vision of it slowly sliding around on my basement floor and toppling over. I think I'll steer clear of any dolly to be on the safe side.

I'd be more concerned about that floor. Keep an eye on it as it dries.

Pretty sure the floor is OK. Water was on it for only minutes, which is why I went through about 20 bath sized towels sopping it up. Damage has been held to a minimum, and the last thing is the family room carpet, which is almost completely dry.

I'm not doing any more dollying with my other rubbermade dolly on the first floor....basement only, and NOT unattended.

Good to hear. Thanks for the lesson too. :p ;)

<Sigh> I had a problem this morning myself. No tank up yet, but I sprung a leak in my hot water line in the basement. Nice little mess trying to contain it... :(

saw your lounge post. ya got me beat by a long shot

Tell me about it. :( My uncle was just by to take a look. He's not a plumber. But he has hooked up and maintained $80K dry cleaning and laundering machines in his two previous dry cleaning businesses. He and his son, who is not a plumber either :D (mech. engineer), are going to take care of everything free of charge of course. But that means waiting til Monday. I think I can live without hot water for two days if it means saving an @$$ load of money on a plumber.

Was the Surge strip GFI protected? If so it shouldn't have melted. When I was first starting out I had a 6 plug POS with two lights one red for "on" and one green for "grounded", that melted on me, I was terrified, looking at the adapter thinking it could have been my house. But it was not GFI protected. Lets just say that on my current set-up I went above and beyond to make sure it is as safe as possible.

The surge strip that melted was NOT on a GFI. With the kitchen tank....retrofit would have been a real PITA

Geez, I just read this Jay, sorry to hear of your troubles. What a PITA. :(
