Sea flo mod question...

I picked up a Sea flo mod today to up the flow in my tank. I previously had a sureflow mod on the 1200 but since the sureflow can be used on any maxi-jet I put that on a 900 and put the Sea flo on the 1200.

So does it take a while for it to quiet down? I love the flow its much much better than the sureflow but it's noisy as hell. I've tried cycling it off and on a couple of times and that didn't work. Any thoughts or input? Thanks...

I haven't seen any problems with mine. It chatters sometimes when it first starts up. I tried using it on a wavemaker but kept on getting stuck.

Have you tried attaching the propellor to the housing first and then the powerhead?

How old is the pump itself? Could the impeller housing be worn?

Otherwise I'd check with Pat, from what I hear he's great about customer service.

I don't know how old the pump is. It's always run quiet and strong. I clean it every few months and just recently did a vinegar soaking to clear off the calcium buildups. As I said I had a different upgrade on it and it was quiet. I woke up this morning and it was still kinda noisy...

I heard that he stopped making these things because of all the other upgrades out there. At least that's what I was told where I bought it...

mine was making noise for a bit and i actually had some air bubbles inside the motor area. maybe you can make sure all air is out by tipping it around in the tank.
just a thought
