Can the playsand be mixed with a couple of bags of live sand and used in tank ?

sure.. just rinse the playsand first to get all the crap out..

Sand is going in 72 bow. Do you think 30# of live sand mixed with play sand is enough to seed it. 3 in. sand bed.

That's true.. And cheaper! Use rinsed playsand till u have r inches or more then put some live sand ontop.. I did this for my remote deep sand bed.. I did 6 inches and used a cup from my established tank on top
