Sounds like a little much for a single surge protector. I thought large extenral pumps where not suppose to be used on surge protectors, something about them needing to be plugged directly into the wall because of the amount of power they draw.

I just use the Belkin 10 plug from Home Depot I have timers plugged into it and a three plug adapter in one switch for my power heads, for two years or more and I havent had any issues YET.... I see them being used in alot of fish stores they are about 25 bucks. Though I am always looking for the most effecient equipment to run so to speak. The power has gone out a couple of times and my computer was saved by a Belkin with battery back up. That saved me some cake...

I like those squid /octopus things too, I wish they were cheaper.
M.

i have gotten water on them a few times.. for me they seem to have a good seal... if that makes sense... its made by "prime"

I've never heard that before. Interesting. Not trying to hijack but I'd be interested in hearing more about this if anyone has some info.

If you are frying them out you may also be doing damage to your equipment as each unit fights for more power, check your equipments power requirements and ask someone at home depot / radio shack ..or even better an electrician what what you need. it may save you a ballast in the long run.

i think the most you are supossed to get out of a single circut is about 1700 watts the strip should say its max wattage.
i use belkin strips

i had a new line ran just for that sp because i had too much on one line... i blew 3 outlets on sp, it was about 35$ at home depot i will try one those squid looking adapters

thanks for all the info
