Does anyone within an hour's drive of Boston have some live brine?

My Flagfin and Majestic aren't eating. They won't even eat PE Mysis. They try foods, but then spit them out. I'd pay you for the brine shrimp of course.

Thanks,
Paul

Paul, Sea World in Salem usually have a tank running with some also.

Have you tried soaking the food in garlic? Haven't tried it myself, but I've heard this usually entices them to eat.

lovely pets in quincy has them regularly.

I haven't tried garlic yet. But I'll give it a shot. Thanks James.

Thanks dp. I just called Lovely Pets and they have some, which is a quicker drive for me. :)

TI often has them as well.

keep in mind they're lousy for nutrition

There may be a reason why they are not eating, and that's important to address.

How long have you had these fish, what kind of system are they in, and do you know where they came from?

If you do hatch your own brine, remember to decapsulate them. The capsules can be lethal.

I've only had them for a couple days. I got them from a guy out west who was getting out of the hobby. The Majestic is in a 29 by himself. The Flagfin is in a 50 with the Anthias. They both seem to be fine... swimming, playing in the current, showboatin', grazing, etc. They eat the food, but then spit it out. I guess I need to try more foods. I'll give the Hikari Mysis and Angel Foods another try before hitting the store.

A couple of days is not long enough for them to starve, so first, I don't see any need for real concern at this time. From my experience, large angels (including my Majestic) can and will stop eating for a week or more if they are upset by something (like getting put in a box and shipped across the country).

It is good that they are active.

Definitely try the live brine. Some places have live mysids as well.

Just out of curiosity, are these tanks established systems or have they just been set up?

2-not-so-drii just set them back up.....

(what I paid for)

please pe interested

Thanks guys. I'm all set. I picked some live brine up last night from Skiptons. They had some pretty cool fish just in. I saw for the first time, a Flashing Filefish and a solid 3.5" Borbonius Anthias. Wow! :: I met Cherokee Dude and ran into B while he was working on the tanks as well. Good guys...

Jay is correct, I set them up the day I received the fish with ~ 50% fresh saltwater/50% NSW. I should be hitting nitrites anyday now. I'm feeding on the light side and am doing 20-30% water changes (1.020) daily. I've also got cured live rock that I got from Randoma and am running an AC filter and powerhead in each tank.
