Does anyone QT snails, hermits, and the like?

+1 on that

Lately,I've been checking the lfs bags to see what the S.G. is.Then I'll match the qt to that before I release the fish in there after acclimation.

That's pretty much what I do. I acclimate pretty quickly though; I'll add 1 cup of tank water every couple minutes until the sg is within a point or so, then I dump them in. Usually takes me about 15 minutes. I no longer drip acclimate anything.

I drip the snail, crabs, shrimp for an hour.
The fish I just keep adding water to the bag periodically(5 ml every 5 minutes for a 1/2 hr)intil a 1/2 full bag is full, then release in QT.
I've heard that it takes snails a long time to adjust.

I will + that as well.

I was told the more basic the anatomy, the more acclimation they need. Snails need a lot more I guess. Some experts recommend up to 8 hrs of acclimation for snails, I do 1 hr like most. It is said it takes around 3 weeks for the damage done to snails during acclimation, or lack of, to manifest. I have wondered why some, or many, of my snails seem to die after roughly 3 weeks, it could be that. I have heard of success with slow and quick.....I really don't know. Thank God they're inexpensive.

i have herd of people getting flat worms from adding snails to there tanks, should be carefull with everything you add to your tank.
