DIY Frag Rack Question

I got my black eggcrate & have designed my racks

I'm going to use a mag float to support it

Can I paint it black to match the rack ???

If so , what paint is safe to use

I was thinking maybe Krylon Plastic Spray Paint

Id pass on the paint who knows what will leach out of it, it could be very toxic.

I've read that the Krylon Fusion for plastic is reef safe. I used it for my internal overflow I built out of white PVC.

not sure about an article to read.

I have been using that krylon fusion plastic paint in salt water tanks for over 2 years now with no problems. Holds up to the elements great.

I say go for it.

Now that I know I can paint the magfloat black , I'll go grab the black Krylon Fusion tonight or tomorrow & start making it I will post pics

Did more reading on RC & a few other site I can find a bunch of people who say it's safe to use but nothing written in stone about Krylon Fusion

I actually went with purchasing Epoxy coated magents for my racks. They are not that expensive, unless you want to get big ones.

The only problem I have is that if I push hard on them I can tilt the rack. I plan on fixing that with my next rack by adding a support brace like I have seen in other racks.

One other thing I like about the magnets is that the rack can be right near the glass, no gap from the mag float.
