Simplifying Water Changes

That's beautiful Mickeyfin. Exactly the kind of contribution i was looking for in this thread.

I really like how you don't stop tank flow, volumes of water exchanged are equiv. and not a lot pumping. I don't have a drain available, but I can incorporate a lot of this ... thank you!

One question. Why the rodi going to the sump if you have the ato?

You also dont have a way of getting the water to the ato without hitting the make-up first.

What happens if the makeup is full and you still want to go to the ato?

I guess it was late when I drew this. :) You're right, my ball valve is below the "T" in the line from the RO water. I do not have to fill my make-up tank before I fill my ATO reservoir. Here is an updated drawing.

The reason why I have that line there (from the RO to the sump) is because I used to manually fill the top-off from that line every day and I have not removed it. (glued in with PVC cement) When I used it I would simply open the ball valve slowly until the water came back up to the full line in the sump. (not the best way, I know, so that is why I installed an ATO)

My ATO will last about 5 days on average and then I fill the tank back up. I don't usually let it get that low, I check it every day, but if I'm away for a few days it's one less thing I have to ask someone to do for me.

Forgot to ad the picture. :)
