He's kind of cute. I hope someone can properly ID him. I've read that some general rules to go by are pointy claws = bad...and red eyes = bad.

Have a sump he can live in??

they host in birds nest.....if so he is a keeper. he will contribute to the health of the coral colony he lives in...

also be aware yours looks similar to a mithrax crab variation. but the mithrax i saw had bands on its legs rather then spots

are mithrax crab's bad? im not much of a crab person.. but when i googled it it came up with a green one...

i would go with the general rule of thumb pointy claws and red eyes = bad i wouldnt keep him in the display. how does the sps he was hiding in look right now? you could also use that as an indicator

emeralds are mithrax crabs. i would not put one in my tank on purpose. however i am pretty sure yours is the coral crab from the family trapezia. was it found on a birds nest coral?

Acro crab. Very good to have. Put him back and make sure no one eats him! :)

i agree its an acro crab live aquaria sells them they live in coral and protect the coral from predators. dosent harm them as far as i know.
