I was doing some maintenance in my fish room and decided to take a few shots this morning. It's not the prettiest fish room. But,
this is by far the best thing I've done to my system.:)
A couple of the fug filled with chaeto and many, many mini-feather dusters.
And yes, corralline even in the fug, that I had to scrape.

Also, the G-2 skimmer doing it's job as it's done from day one.I love this recirc. mod,.Anybody that's done this knows what I'm talking about.
The auto top off with kalkwasser is in place now for a couple months using an aqualifter....works great.:)
Thinking of swopping out the 20 gallon rubbermaid for that 32 gallon for limewater/top-off holding.
My parameters have been rock solid.

.....Bob great job, look at how black the noog is you have going on in that skimmer cup ......

That skimmer has worked flawless since I set it up.
I can't say enough about the recirc. mod.
And I know other reefers that have done it on their ASM skimmers and love the performance.

Aw, I miss having a refugium. I think I had more fun looking in there than the tank.

There's all kinds of critters crawling through the chaeto.

Nice setup, fish rooms rock. Nothing like having enough space for any gadgets/equipment you want to run. I probably would have left this hobby a long time ago if I was forced to work within the confines of a cabinet :p

Yup,no worries with spills, kalk powder on the floor...ect...ect.
It's an old tile floor so just wipe it up and forget about it.
It's nice to have a place to test the water, acclimate fish/corals also.
Not to mention how the only sound up at the display is a barely noticeable running water.

Someday I'd like to get back to this type of set up and get a bigger tank upstairs than my current Solana, but I had a horrible experience with tanks in the basement with temperature and humidity.

Maybe it was because I had the display tank down there as well running MH lights, but I had rusting tools, mold problems, etc. I even installed a heavy duty exhaust fan and a dehumidifier which helped the moisture, but compounded the temperature issues.

I was considering some sort of AC solution (which is difficult in a basement), when I finally just decided to break it all down instead and go with a small self-contained tank upstairs.

Is all that less of a problem with just sumps down there and no lights causing the heat/evap issues?
