Saugus area water pressure

Anyone else in the Saugus area notice low water pressure? My RO/DI gauge used to show 45 psi is now showing 20 psi so my 90 gpd unit is putting out 20 gpd right now. If anyone can confirm then time for a booster pump I guess. I'm trying to avoid shutting down the main coming in and trowing a gauge on there.

it could be a bad pressure gauge, i think home depot sells gauges thet hook up to the ends of the drain valve to check pressure (like the valve that you connect the garden hose to it) usually the pressure its around 50 to 65 psi in the area .

Could be the prefilters, but due the rapid decrease in output I'm sure it's not the gauge. Even me kitchen sink sprayer will not "swap" from the faucet to the sprayer unless I stick my finger over the faucet. My SpectraPure is tapped to my cold water kitchen faucet. I think I'll check the pressure coming in. Anyone that lives around Saugus or travels Rt. 1 knows that the water main on Rt. 1 has gone 9 times in 20 months and I live 250 feet from Rt. 1

OK, if your water pressure is obviously low, then it's not the prefilters.

So it's normally at 45psi, but suddenly dropped? If so, I'd shut the unit down and check again in a day or two. Maybe it's hydrant flushing day or something?

I think if it dropped 25psi, when you showered or turned a faucet on you would see a difference, --and making the post I can only assume there is not a difference at the faucet.

I would take a closer look at your setup, it's gotta be something else.

call the water dept...they can tell you what's going on in your town

Good point, I'll call them tomorrow. My showers and everything else seems fine btw.

Thanks and I'll follow up
