My latest addition: Fire Dendro !*), at least that's what I call it. Never seen one like it before, puts my regular(yet amazing) dendro to shame. Can't wait until it opens up more.

Ohhhh....nice! Where did you pick that baby up at?

mrcoral.com

They are calling it a Rainbow Dendro. I've been looking high and low to find a non-standard Dendro and they had it. Looks like they also just posted a new multi-head "cRaZy" one.

is it dendronephthea?
they have a horrible track record in tanks, at least they used to.
has this also changed? are we now able to keep dendronephthea?

The two have very similar spellings, This one's a Dendrophyllia, and what you have spelled is dendronephyllia or dendronephthya(carnation coral). The dendrophyllia is an lps that requires feedings due to its lack of zooxanthellae. Most people feed them mysis, brine shrimp, etc. These are relatively easy to keep ime.
Dendronephyllia are also non-photosynthetic and require smaller foods such as phyto. These have a pretty bad reputation like you've said, but it is becoming increasingly popular. If you're up for a challenge and have alot of money lying around, they're one of the best looking corals out there imo.

mak3mydae is correct, it's the easier to care for Dendrophyllia. I may possibly be a Balanophyllia, I'm waiting to see how it acts when fully normalized to my system.

Ok...got to have one.
It's the new trend on the Dendro Line...:D

There do seem to be a few more unique Dendros showing up. I had seen on pop up on ultimatefrags for a few minutes before it was gone a month ago. They had labeled it as an unknown LPS and now mrcoral has a bunch. Hope there's more as I love Dendro's.

I'd love to know where they are coming from. Aussie?

Some times they are shy. I turned off the flow and dropped a small piece of food directly on it's mouth. No feeders came out, it just opened it's mouth and swallowed.
