BTA multiplying like rabbits or coat hangers

My BTA keeps spliting.
Any suggestions as to how to get them off live rock so I can give them away?

I just use a plastic spoon or knife, start at the edge of the foot and peel them off slow they come off pretty easy.

I've seen a lot more splits when the weather is hot as compared to the cooler months, that might be part of it?

IME it's kind of a pita to get them off of the rocks WITHOUT hurting them. What I do find works great is;
-Remove the rock from the tank
-Hold the rock at an angle so that the nem(s) are sort of drooping down under their own weight.
-Very slowly and gently nudge at the edges of the foot with a plastic toothpick mm by mm.

That way they should peel up and off pretty easily without any tears or other damage to the foot.

I would agree with this... From the sound of it I'd say there was some minor-major fluxuation in OP's tank and BTA's asexually reproduce when they're stressed; it's a survival instinct...

+1 on this way as well... Or you could try the powerhead at their foot or stick an ice cube at their foot. I haven't had much luck with either two methods but some people have...

+1

I've also had good luck carefully prying up the foot using an old credit card. If you kinda start at one spot, once you get under there a bit with the edge of the card the rest gets much easier. Just take your time and do your best to be gentle. Four removals with this method, zero casualties.
