1st Time Sump/Fuge set up help for a newb

Hi
Title says it all . :o) Decided to replace my canister (RIP) with a samll sump/fuge, but I've never set one up so....

I posted pics so you can see what was sent in the box. I think I know what goes where, but no instructions came w it. I have never set one up so looking for some guidance and 1st timer advice. Its a catalina aquarium sump/fuge.

I have a few questions:

1.They didn't send the foam rubber filter pads that I've seen in other fuges that are stuffed between the bubble trap/baffles. Should I buy/make some up and put them in between the different stages? Both, one, none?

2. is there any suggestion about adding in the mud/water? Mud first? water first? Pack it down? fluff it up, pour it in? No idea so any suggestions are welcome.

3. My tank has been established for about 7 months and water quality has been fairly stable for about half that time with fish, corals, and live rock. once everything is in place with the fuge, do i fire it up right away or do i wait a few days like their website suggests?

4. Any general advise that I should have asked for and didn't is welcome!

Here is the link to it and the specs

I wouldn't bother w/ anything between the baffles unless you find you need it. I would loose the bio-balls and use that chamber for some rock and cheato.
