2013 Official BRS Growout

Another update on my frag:

Don't think I've done a water change since my last update; getting ready to do one this weekend. Emptied the skimmer and cleaned it once or twice. Frag is still in the same place as last time (bottom middle of tank to one side, near the glass). I don't spot feed anything in the tank. Food is a mix of pellets/flake.

The frag is puffy on a more consistent basis. The two whole heads look much healthier and it looks like the partial head is starting to heal/grow. In the last picture you can see a little nub, I think it might be a new head growing; it's the same color/flesh-like consistency as the larger heads.

It got mad at me and deflated a bit when I picked it up for the 2nd and 3rd pics.

Looks good. Luckily, mine survived my vacation, and I had to really clean the tank when I got home. I will post pictures later, but I don't see much change.

Here is a current picture of my frag. The camera flash makes it look more brown than it is.

It is pretty much the same size as when I got it. Still just 3 mouths, still on the bottom in a lower flow area. I recently did my water tests and the SpG is at 1.025, PH - 7.6, Nitrates - 0, Nitrite - 0, Ammonia - 0, Phosphates - 0, Calcium - 420, Carbonate - 8. Was having issues with the tank temp, as many of us were. I just bought a 15,100 BTU window AC to cool the Dinning room, Kitchen and Living Room where the tank is, so the tank temp is now back at 79 degrees.

here is my update
did a water change and feeding once a week
parameters staying stable as previously posted

One month check in! Mine hasn't changed much since the last check in. Same color, same size...heads aren't complete yet.

Doing a waterchange in a few hours then will be back here with an update! It looks exactly the same as it always has though. Turned back to red though from orange/green go figure. Strange.

Nothing new here.

Did a water change this weekend. Haven't fed it for a few weeks. Not much changed except it's turning brown/orange with a hint of green.

CaptainHook, are you too running LED or did the color change with T5/MH?

Update on mine-

Hasn't changed much other than one of the little heads being more prominent.

6 week check in. Mine still looks the same all around except for one little spot on the side. New baby or just a piece of extra flesh?

Mine is starting to grow a fleshy piece between the two large heads on the base of the skeleton too. Not sure if it's the large heads just getting larger at the base, or a new head starting to form yet.
Looks the same in the photo still though:

On a side note however, the acan I moved out of the 5g to make way for this one, I had put in my 40g.
It's the one that turned from red with grey accent to neon orange with teal accent.

Well I have documented proof right here that not only does a Maxspect R420R NOT turn red corals to orange, but it can even REVERSE the effect of red corals that changed color!

It's still coloring up, but that photo was after 7 days in the 40g. I moved it off the sand in the 5g when I got the frag for this contest and put it up higher on the rocks,
and up until last week it was there but it has been growing so quickly I had to move it before it overgrew the pico.

I do. However I'm on my phone so it's difficult to find and post the link. But if you search for my 5g Pico thread, it's in there. :-)
