I cant wait to expand onto this because it's identical to the situation you were in and it only forced Me out and going to force my wife to cancle her membership. I wanted change approached the board with change and got a slap in the face IMO with these new BYLAW UPDATES. I really wanted to make changes but guess I gotta follow the rules and run for president next year if the new kid lets me. I will follow up on my other post but I am very disappointed in the club today as I was a paid sponsor for my Facebook group as a bod member and now my wife supports as a sponsor and I can't be a bod any more. But guess that has its benefits I can get a free tables at brs events from my buddies on the board and I can actually because a BUISNESS OWNER IS THIS COMING YEAR. SEEMS A LIITLE OFF GUYS AS MY WIFE'S YEARLY SPONSORS MEMBERSHIP DIDNT COVER THE FREE TABLES GIVEN TO A NON SPONSOR AND NOW PERSON ON THE BOARD. As I read the new bylaw I helped motion it's so backwards it's sad. Also this is 1 of my 20 motions I will cover in your other post.

FWIW I was always concerned about conflicts of interest.

Nothing against anyone specific, nothing personal towards anyone.

To me someone connected to a hobby related business being on the BOD at least gives the appearance of some impropriety. Free tables and the feeling that favoritism is coming into things sounds to me like the inevitable "slippery slope" that comes with combining volunteering and vested interests.

I was surprised that the BOD was able to reach such a decision. Love OR hate the decision, either way some leadership is happening.

The beauty of Democracy is change can happen. The problem is I don't get my way every time
