Time to BUILD. Its been over a year since i sold my last tank, Now its time for a new one. With help from Bigdog, theres been alot of research, planning and designing over the past year or so. ive helped him Build and "re-build" his setup more than a few times, so now that its my turn to build, i can learn from his do's and dont's....Thanks Eric. Its stating with a closet pretty close to 4' square by more than 8' high. Lots of room to put Lots of stuff. The walls were in bad shape so Bigdog came in with his excellent plastering skills andafter about 3 or 4 hits and days later the walls are as smooth as glass, and he put up a new ceiling too. The closet is going to consist of a 55G sump, previously Bigdogs untill he upgrade his sump to a 75G....We ran a dedicated line from the panel in the basement to the second floor for electricity in the closet. heres some pictures of the sump and some other stuff. it all has to come back out so the closet can be painted but this is just the dry-fit......once again i wanna thank Eric for all his help and everything hes done and will do......ENJOY

<---- Guilty

I looked last night but was too tired to respond to any threads.

I think it is great that you are getting back in. Congrats on the new fish closet.

It must be nice to have your boy Bigdog backin you up like that Clownin.

Also I think it is great that you are providing cable tv to your fish. ;) :D

Just looked.....
I'm a little confused about the stand.
Shouldn't the front and rear section be connected together?

they actually were screwed together, just didnt show that part in the pic.....the floor was so far outta whack it was easier to make sure each one was level seperately then they were screwed together with 2x4's....but they are also screwed to the floor.....its noit goin anywhere.

what are your plans for paint on the walls and ceiling? Exterior enamel? at least bath paint, for resistance to moisture. 2 coats.

Also, what's you plan on ventilating that space? I can see a humidity issue adding up in a hurry...

oh, and welcome back to the addiction...err, hobby

straight up semi-gloss pure white on everything.....walls, ceiling, stand, shelves.....i want it as bright as possible.....as for ventilation ill just open the door if it gets too bad but there shouldnt be any problems with moisture or humidity.... maybe a mall fan in there but nothing else.

looking good. where is the DT going and what size
