250 watt DE 14k Ushio...?

Does anyone have any experience using these bulbs? I have heard they are close if not identical to the geismann megachrome coral I'm using now. It's getting to be around that time to buy new bulbs.

Jeremy has/had one on the elos tank in his store.

I really like the look of the bulbs and I'm planning on getting a pair, but no personal exp yet.

By any chance do you know what ballast he's using?

I bought a pair for my maristar...they're a brighter white than the 14k Phoenix bulbs that came out. Blue wave 7 magnetic ballasts here. Less fluorescense and color than the Phoenix,IMO

I have icecap electronic, so I expect they will not be quite as bright as your magnetic ballasts make them, maybe a little more blue. The phoenix are too blue for my taste.

Less blue than phoenix, but way better intensity & growth. Phoenix is NOT an sps lamp.
