Well the breeder didnt work out. So got a cube and just finish building my stand. Here are some pics. I will update with tank plans soon. Here is the stand. Going to be painting it black gloss as well. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360638081.357393.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1360638089.844268.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1360638100.600288.jpg

Made the door as well just need to get some hindges. Will be using an AL Sol for lights. A tunze nano osmolator for and ATO that will be in a 5 gallon ATO tank in the stand. Thinking of going with a aquafuge 2 medium size on the back and then a BRS carbon reactor. No sump on this either. So need to think of a skimmer. Open to suggestions.

looks good so far...from my experience, do yourself a favor and spray the inside some type of thick coated paint almost like a truck bed liner...if not the plywood doors warp from the salt water in no time.

I was thinking some Kills on the inside. I used 3/4 inch cabinet grade hardwood not sure if it makes a difference. Still I want to seal it though. I have all the stuff to make a screen top so might do that tonight.

I really want to do the med size aquafuge2 but then it only leaves 5 inches left on the back which would make a skimmer tuff. I am good with water changes and don't have a skimmer on my biocube just use the middle chamber for a fuge and chemi pure. I could get the small fuge and have more space for a hob skimmer.

Stand is done. Made a screen cover and also made the light hangers for my AL Sol out of conduit. Have my Tunze osmolator nano. Need a reef keeper and a skimmer now. It's between this and my biocube. This is for sale. If its not gone by Wednesday I am staying with it and ordering the AquaC Remora S with drain fitting. They have good reviews and the drain is the biggest thing for me due to me being scared that it will over flow. Plus they added a bigger cup and muffler silencer.

Ok got a questions for all of you. I am going with the Aqua C Remora Hob skimmer with the drain. My biggest fear with a hob skimmer was the flood and I'm a firefighter and work 24 hour shifts so we all know that's when it would happen. So here is my Plan. Let me known if you think it's good.

Run the drain hose into a extra 5 gallon bucket or tank. Maybe a little smaller. Then get the float switch that connects to the RKL I'm buying and put the float in the drain tank so if something ever happen and it started dumping water out once it hit the switch the RKL would kill the power to the skimmer. What do u think

You could also get a flood sensor for the floor near the tank or under the stand and do the same thing... was reading some reviews of the new Neptune module on RC and I think someone mentioned they made their own with a piece of aluminium.

THanks MrX i will have to look into that. Just want a back up for the back up. Still new only 9 months in but learned better to have back ups for the back ups . This is one of the reasons i went with the remora cause of the drain. Well i will be when i get it off another member here. Bought the Tunze Osmolator nano a couple weeks ago and it has a circuit that only allows the pump to run for five min and if it doesnt fill the tank by then it will shut off and not turn back on until u unplug it. SO that i def liked.

Well that's the sand I am going with.

Got yet another question. I know most people won't like the idea. I found a pirate ship dec. that's safe for Marine and wanted to know if people thought it would be ok. It would be the only thing. Everything else will be live rock. I personally like the idea with some corals growing around it or on it. Also the kids like it which is half the reason I do the tank anyway.

A week or so before the tank switch and One of my clowns decided to start playing in the RBT. Even though he is double its size.

Question on the move. I can fit the new tank right behind the old so I would be able to pump the water directly into the new one. Should I set up a ten gallon temp home for my few corals and fish or just do the move all at once.

Anybody with input on my two questions Getting the sand today then just need to get some RO and make some salt water. Next purchase is either a reef keeper lite or an rodi unit.

Pirate ship should be fine if it says it's for saltwater. Figured it would be made out of like the same stuff fake coral for FO tanks.

As far as the ten gallon that's a great idea not gonna hurt nothing.
Just stick your rock powerhead and heater in there and go to work on the transfer. When I transfered my tank I bought a bunch of big 20 gallonish Rubbermaid containers.

Good luck

Also an rodi machine will save many trips to the LFS. A rkl all be it awesome and adds security to your tank I would go with the rodi
