A good start by why aren't they selling these? We are importing Lionfish from all over the world to sell yet we kill the ones we catch in FL.

534 isn't that many to distribute to the aquarium trade wholesalers. WTF!! ??

500 seems like a decent amount to me. I'm not saying they need to supply every wholesaler out there, maybe just ship them all to just one distributer. I’m sure LiveAquaria could probably sell them all, especially with the free press this would get. A friend of mine was just in the keys and his scuba guide was killing them left and right. So I understand the need for killing an invasive fish and the ease of which to do it. It just seems like they are missing a business opportunity. If you can turn this into some sort of commodity, for selling or eating, fishermen will go get em.

Talk to some one from Reeftopia today. They said they have been catching these Lion fish ,and selling them to their customers. There are some people out there with some common sense.

the purpose is to reduce their population in the carib as they do more damge than good in our protected reef.......... i saw that briefly on TV. they were released into the carib sea by us reefers, they adapt well and becoming damaging to our carib eco system.

I saw something about this a while back on Saltwaterfsh.com, they were selling lionfish caught off the atlantic coast. I guess they've become pretty invasive.
