ok so this is my 55 gallon reef tank build, just found out how to up load pics, i hope this works. Two AI Hydra, 70 pounds of live rock (main tank and refugium),80 pounds of live Pink Fiji sand, and 25 pounds of Ocean Exploium sand straight from their display tank. Reefkeeper tank controller with many add-ons, four reactors-dual carbon and gfo bio pellets and KW reactor, panworld 200 pump, hydor power heads, a 200w and 300w heaters, main tank has 4 inch sand bed and 40 gallon sump also has 4 inch sand bed. this took a year to complete, from the time i bought the tank to last Friday drilling through the floor, o-ya main tank on first floor and sump in basement. used no credit cards and paid cash only. Greg at underwater world in taunton was great at helping me, he'll do lay-a-way. Yaktop from fairhaven was the best, he taught me a lot, also sold me a lot.And Warren from the Ocean Explorium is amazing, and yes he is holding corals for me. Im useing all Red Sea products, had good luck in past with my nano 12 gallon. i hope these pis work, and will try to keep this going.

the main tank and the sump room are on their own GFCI independently wired to fuse box. the 1.5 inch return and 1.25 inch main tank to sump plumbing goes through the floor. it was a hard decision giving that the first plan was to have the sump under stand. the 1.5 inch manifold connects the reactors and i do have room for expansion, and im going to run a reefoctopus skimmer with a auto neck cleaner, the 5 stage rodi is custom, at least i think. to 55 gallon holding tanks, one with rodi water and the other one with rodi and salt with mixing pumps and a heater. so i lost my work bench but i gained satisfaction, this road had been a stressful one, just wanting to make sure i got all the right equipment.

Looks real nice so far. Lot of wires over the sump, but other than that really nice plumbing and organization.

Looking real nice man. Wish I owned my home so I could do the sump in the basement setup. Keep us posted with new pics.

looks really nice. just out of curiosity, whats the reason for the long loop on the pump outlet before going up to the return on the tank?

the panworld pump is a high head pump with 1780 GPH at 39 ft. i think. and im going about 20 feet with the 1.5 inch pvc, as far as the flex hose under the tank that is because of my mistake, floor support on older house so i centered the tank on knee wall under floor. should have drilled one foot to the left then that would have been straight up and down. but if your referring to the manifold that is powering the carbon\GFO reactor and bio-pellet reactor, soon their will be a UV plumbed to that to.
so now i have three light blue damsels and three small frags in main tank, doing very well. the refugium now has red and green algae, chato and i forgot the name of the red stuff. water test all came out good last night and the skimmer started up so now i am seeing some light brown gunk.
i have to go to school tonight but later i will try to post some more pics.

hear are a few pics of my new friends, the Blue reef chromis have been in the tank since 3-22 and the Ocellaris were a big hit with the kids today, thanks to Underwater World. so i started my bio-pellet reactor in which i hope for the best, all levels are ok right now, thanks to the reefkeeper with is monitor up stairs, but i want to add the RD1 remote display in the basement.

Very nice setup. Where did you get your manifold, ball valves, and reducers? Are you able to connect a BRS reactor to the manifold?

the manifold was built out of 1.5 inch pvc that i bought from Lowes. all pvc came from their, i took ideas from a lot of other reefers and researched a lot before deciding on this design. and yes you can incorporate any reactor to this, i used JG fitting for my duel reactor and a barbed fitting for my bio-pellet reactor, at the moment the third ball valve is used for water change. i will put a UV sterilizer once i can afford it.

i know some pics look like other pics that are in this post but i wanted to show how i cleaned up, snaked pump wire through bottom of bench, mounted reactor on wall, how the skimmer is doing its job with a skimmer neck cleaner, the wires look messy but their tied back with ties. the home depot bucket houses my ATO which is ran by the Reefkeeper- i would say about 1 gallon every 48 hours, not to bad. i will set up my KW reactor maby tonight or tomorrow night- that will run from a separate pump inside the ATO bucket.

hear are sum pics of my new friends thanks to Underwater World and The Ocean Explorium.

the maxima clam looks great under my AI Hydra lights, i have not even set the lights above 40% yet since plugging them in.BTY my camera stinks, need new one. but i think the pics look all right.

that is a great pic on how powerful the 2inch 25w aquaultraviolet UV realy is. its made of sch80 plastic and i used sch40 white plastic, realy cool seeing its in the basement it does look like two nuclear fuel rods.reef tank 002.JPGreef tank 001.JPGreef tank 007.JPGreef tank 005.JPG
