it definitely looks gorgeous ...how tall is the stand..

you going to build a matching canopy as well

the stand is 38 3/4" but with the foam its 39 1/2". im using a pendant light instead of a canopy.

ahh okay..i thought that fixture usually goes inside f canopyies..but it does look nice enough on its own as well

it does have a nice black finish to it. should look sleek hanging above the tank.

steve, ive seen that but the lumenbright needs to be hung 15" from waters surface and I dont like that idea aesthetically. I was planning on hangin it from the ceiling with wires and eyehooks.

Looking good Steve. :D Wish mine was that far along.

thanks. Ive been trying to log any free time I have to finish the stand. Its tough seeing my wife works night and I have a 2 yr old son which doenst let you get much of anything done. Fortuneately my mom has been watching him so we could work on it when I get home. I can usually log 2-3 hrs after work for a couple days a week. It takes so much time when you dont have the experience and expertise that cabinet makers have. In my opinion it comes down to researching what you want and then having the tools to execute...and of course putting in the effort. The right tools make a huge difference. Im highly motivated when i comes to projects like this...otherwise I tend to slack off :D.

I agree with you 100%, having the right tools to complete the job is a must. If i cannot do something the right way i feel like its just a waste of time. It is hard though cause the "right tools" tend to be expensive haha.

expensive, maybe alittle. I used a router, table saw, chop saw and power drill. Many have those common tools otherwise I wouldnt think of attempting to build anything...i suck with a hand saw :)

Steve, This build is pissa...Looks very nice...something about a new system that always gets me....Very Cool that Pops is helping you with your project. I actually didn't even know you were doing this!! Tell your dad I say Hi...keep the pics coming!!;)

You were right Steve...the tank is sweet looking and can't notice unless you are really looking. The stand looks awesome also. Yeah, let your bro stain it... we wouldnt want you to mess it up now.

thanks Julian. ill be sure to bust his balls so he stains it for me. hes the type that needs a good push to get things done.
