I wasn't quite as lucky, house hit 80 and the tank was at 84. My Acros didn't seem to be to happy, polyps retracted most of the day. Time to put a fan on the sump as well.denvig said:It got up to 79-80 in the house today (AC not on yet) but tank only got to 80.4, basement sumps work![]()

I think it all depends on how well you insulate. can you build a box around it and put insulation around and on top of the tank? evaporative cooling is huge in dry, cold air.NateHanson said:Thanks Linda, I was wondering about how much heater I was going to need. I've got a 200w heater in the display, and a 250w in the basement sump. Do you have a guess for whether that's enough? I really have a hard time guessing.
Total volume's now about 120g. Basement stays about 45-50 in the wintertime.
