I posted these pictures a few days ago, but here they are again. All light is coming from the camera flash that you can see laying on the table. The flashlight is turned on the whole time, but does not significantly contribute to the exposure.

You'll never improve if you quit trying. You don't think my first tries came out this good. Not close. Actually I can show you. Here is my first attempt at photographing clownfish larvae. From Jan 2002.
