Nova Extreme SLR T-5 Fixtures
48" x 5-1/2" Saltwater; 108 watt
I have this lighting system on my 55 gallon tank FOWLR. It is the 10000K light and the 460 actinic (blueish light). The question I have is that I have been battling brown alagae and saw an article which said among other things that having old lights and them needing to be replaced could be a factor in causing the algae growth. Has anyone heard this? Nothing with the people who sold it says anything about when to change the bulbs but is there a rule of thumb as far as when to change them? and can it cause problems with algae or stuff due to the lights? any info is appreciated as always.
