A Tale of Two Tangs

I have a sailfin, yellow, scopas, kole and lavender tang in the same tank - 270g.

Before I introduce a new fish I always move a few rocks around. Every one beats up on the newcomer the first day or so. I watch carefully to make sure it doesn't get out of hand and overfeed during the introduction to distract from the newcomer. Then everyone settles into their place in the order.

The tank is 7 feet long - yet here are all 5 tangs hanging out together in a 18" space. The lavender is on the far left (only got 1/2 of him in the pic).

Ok, I added a Hippo Tang (after forbidding my kids to name it Dory) and the Yellow back in.

Purple doesn't really seem to mind the Hippo. Yellow Tang's decided he's had enough time in the sump and is not going back... he's fighting the purple off for his little chunk, which is far more than he did last time. Purple's still trying though.
