??? about fishing line in reef tank

I want to make a tonga sps floating branching island using fishing line to suspend it.Anyone see a problem with this?Will the saltwater eat away the lines?I don't think heat will be an issue as I have t5 and it doesn't get that hot

Pretty sure it will be fine as I have seen many lengths of fishing line in the ocean and they don't seem to be going anywhere without human help.

Keep in mind, over time the mono will break down where it exits the water and sits under your lights. Will take a while, but sooner or later the weight of the rock will cause the line to fail if you loose light line where you tie it over a middle brace as an example.

I have has monofilament line 15 lb. test holding my algae clip for a couple years now.
