acclimating fish bought online

ordered a matis shrimp and yellow tang, going to be received tomorrow, going into different tanks..

my question is do i acclimate the same, when i buy fish from lfs i usually float the bag for 20 mins, then drip acclimate for 45mins to an hour, does the same rule apply or acclimate longer, thanks in advance

I acclimate the same when I order online. IMO, you want to get them out of the bag fairly fast because you don't know how much oxygen is left in the bag. Even though they pump O2 in there, it still is probably running low. You also might want to shut all the lights off since they are probably extremely stressed from the shipping, especially the YT.

Are you putting the tang in a QT tank? Tangs don't handle stress well and often get ich.

i will if i need to i have on qt onstandby, i will keep you posted how things go, i have qtd a fish but may consider it

Sounds like somebody needs an Acclimate! Hmm... a mantis and a fish... better make it two Acclimates!
