$20.00 PEOPLE, COME ON.
Well Im in the process of purchasing a controller

I have a 55g right now but will have a 125g set up with a fish room..this is what im really buying it for..

1) I know it has a temp probe and can control the temperature
I have a titanium heater that already has a controller that came with it.. What do i do about that? just keep it separate

2) I also have a jbj ATO and i was wondering how i would go about hooking it up to the acjr?

3) can i hook this up to an ethernet and have it email me if something goes wrong???

thanks in advance

ACJR doesn't allow you to directly hookup to the Internet. You can set it up through your computer but it is not the best setup, PIA if you ask me.

You can use it as a failsafe to your current temp controller.

Not sure about how the JBJ ATO works so can't help there.

I used the ACJR for a month or so then upgraded to the AC3 I hated not being networked to my PC. To access the ACjr on your PC you use a serial cable, it was just not for me. Programing the controller via the controller is a not even an option IMHO you need to have PC access.

All I can add is a strong second to using both temp controllers as a failsafe.

Run the heater controller off of the system controller, that way you'll never cook the tank if one controller or the other fails and sticks "ON".

ahhh i like the idea of the failsafe...

is the only difference between the jr and III is the online capabilities?

i really dont wanna spend like an extra 150 on that..

I was looking at the elite..didint really like it that much

I ended up just getting the ACjr i got a huge deal on it.. i got the module serial port thing and temp probe and the dc8 all for 210 shipped..

if i do need to go up to the pro or III i can just use to the JR on my seahorse tank if it comes to that.. i dont think i will really need to

I didint get a ph probe just for the fact i don't have a calc reactor on the tank so im not to worried about the ph

I can control perlistic pumps with this thing?

what do you mean control peristaltic pumps on it? It has timers so you can turn the pump on and off (if you use one like "drews dosing pump" from bulkreef) but if you're talking a highend computer controlled dosing pump than it probably won't do much.

The ACJR is similar to the RK2, and that's what i have... it doesn't do tons of things like the other controllers, but it still serves a very good purpose, and is a valuable tool to have. I've had my RK2 for about a year, but will be upgrading to either Neptune Apex or RKE soon for the expandability as well as remote internet control and monitoring...

Yea i mean the turning on and off.. I figured it could..

I saw the elite..but couldnt justify 450 bucks for a 55g tank you know..maybe in the future

didint see the ph probe..that is a good deal damn lol

That's why I posted a link about the Reefkeeper Lite w/ ph probe and 4 outlets being $99. :)

It's actually a temperature probe ;), but that's still an affordable option for a controller.

yea if it was a ph probe i would be mad

it ends up still being almost as much as i spent..i get the dc 8 instead of just 4
