Looking to mount one one a LR that I didn't have much luck doing underwater.
Going to try the purple 2 part epoxy this time out of water. When I glued this frag to a plg with super glue gel I had it out for about 5 minutes.

i wood say no longer than 10 minutes but pvh is right i seen it on discovery ch

I wouldn't worry about 5 minutes. I've had some out of water for fraggin and mounting to plugs for way longer.

A while back I forgot about a frag that I mounted for about 40 minutes, poor thing sat on the table in the basement all alone with no water. It's still growing today!

Thanks guys,
If I recall,I do remember seeing pictures of acro's out of the water for extended periods on a nature channel.I just pulled some tank maintanance,skimmer,paramaters...ect.I'm going to do this a little later on today.I have 2 to mount.

Try 3 hours out of water and still alive in my tank AKA stag I thought I killed it but still kicking. I love stags.:)

Well Ronnie, the acro's lasted longer than the birdsnest.
But at least I still have some sps(knock on wood).

And guess what?
I never did get those acro's mounted.
Ended up trouble shooting my surround sound.
Oh well........it's a long weekend.:D

I watched Jay move one of his tanks reccently. A whole pile of acro colonies in a DRY rubbermaid for an hour or so, no problems.

:D, what John said.

IME, they actually slime (stress) LESS when you pull them out of water completely when moving them. YMMV. Every coral I pulled out that day (and again on the move back a few weeks later) is doing well, with one exception...a millie that got the crap stung out of it by a RBTA

Cool,I got them done today.:p
I just let them sit on the newpaper till the epoxy cured in 5-8 minutes.
THey slimmed some when I put the LR back into the tank. But they're fine now.
I like that purple coralline colored epoxy.
