acrylic question - threaded hole

Hey I am going to drill a small hole in piece of acrylic and want to put a plastic bolt through, the same kind of thing on the back of the cpr bakpaks that basically adjusts the distance as it pushes against the back of the tank. know what i mean?

Question is, whats the best way to make the threading fit the bolt after I drill the hole? a special metal bit to use?

thanks for instructions.

You need to use a "tap" that matches the thread count and bolt size you plan to use. Tap & Die kits aren't super cheap though so you might be better off borrowing the tool from someone that has one.

pantinor,
I work in ayer and if want to stop by I'll fix you up in 5 minutes.pm me if interested.

Holy crap that is cheap...Usually a set like that is in the hundreds of dalloars. I take it it doesn't last long with metal threading?:D

Harborfreight is great for stuff like this. Yeah, theyre probably not real high quality, but PVC adn acrylic arent going to damage them.
