Adding live rock to exsisting tank.

I have a 55 gallon FOWLR tanks and have two small fish and 8 or so turbo snails. I have had set up ad running for a little over a year. I have a question and wonder if it is possible to add more live rock to the tank. I like the way to looks now but think with more live rock and more building of the rock formations it would look much better? Do I have to cure it first? or can I just add? I got the original rock in the tank from MArco rocks and would like to just get more and add? Any thoughts?!?!?!?!

well you should be able to get cured rock from either Marco or from another BRS member, if there is a lot of die of u may go though a mini cycle. but likely you should be fine. I guess it depends on how much new rock u add, the amount of die off if any, and the amount of capacity you have in your current system......

let us know if u have any other questions

I'd say yea you can add more rock, but to be safe bring it home and run it in a spare tank or rubbermaid for a few days and then test that water for nitrate and phosphate. If the tests come out 0 or very close to 0, then the rock can go right into the 55. If you do get levels of nitrate or phosphate, then let the water cycle in the spare container until the levels go down.
