afboundguy's 35 gallon and display fuge build!!!

Seeded tank with pods and topped the cultures off with phyto today and also swapped out the cheapo Marley Basket dosing containers for not as cheapo dosing containers lol

Took on the task of moving the tank today and of course when I had the tank half drained dragging it to the right work called me in for an emergency!

I lost a few hours so I wasn't able to get the plumbing installed very well and I need to buy a bunch of 45 & 90 elbows and might just swap it all out to blue PVC since I want to redo everything but not sure just yet.

Stand swapped out!

The overflow for the display fuge was leaking so need to fix that another day

Plumbing is an absolute mess. I plan to buy a bunch of 45 & 90 elbows and at that point I might consider swapping out the red plumbing for blue but not 100% sure if it would be worth the money but the blue sump and red plumbing is just ok in my eyes.

Hooked back up the 3-part and phyto dosing set up as well as installed a Reefbreeder's fuge light I got for the Christmas. Plan to mount the dosing pump somewhere to clean up the look along with organize the wires and make it look way better!

Sweet looking sump bud

Ordered some new PVC elbows should be here by Friday! Plan to add a second return pump for redundancy as well if I can fit it! Probably also will need to upgrade the heaters since I just added 20-25 gallons of water!

Re-caulked the display fuge's overflow box and let it sit overnight and hooked it back up this morning and no leaks

I originally just used a bulkhead and not the overflow box the kit came with thinking I could use it on a different tank in the future. Issue is the water level in the tank is low and I can't fit a 90 elbows in the space available to raise the level so I think I'll put the box back inside to raise the water level.

Everything looking great but the display fuge is fire! Cant wait until it grows out more.

I can't wait until I get more macro in it! Decided to put sand in since I probably won't be doing dwarf seahorses and plan to pick some up tomorrow if I can. With sand I can add different stuff like mangroves or those bottle brush plants!

Plan to add some interesting nano fish probably from Biota as they have some cool nano gobies. Need to pick some of the rocks from the sump to really decorate it nicely. I also plan to glue the GSP to the back AIO panel to hopefully get it to grow everywhere on it as I think that would look fantastic!

Dave, the Macro Lady will be at FFM on March 1st in case you needed another excuse to come on down

I would love an excuse to head down there but I am working that day. I could take the day off but might cost me too much money if I head down there :cautious:

Perfect, so we'll see you there:p

Starting to see the customization aspect of the aluminum extrusion! I mounted the reactor and just screwed it into the extrusion with an extrusion but on the other side! Was super easy and I could move it around to get it in the right spot before screwing it down tight. And if I don't like that spot I can move it again!

One thing that I struggle with is my brain keeps moving the finish line for my projects before I can catch up to them! I have an idea of what I want to achieve but my brain never shuts off and I keep adding to or adjusting the plans.

While the tank stand move was great it has created a mess that is bugging me but I don't have enough time to clean it all up! I am hopeful that after I replumb the tank it'll free me up to mount everything and tidy up!

Cleaned up the plumbing a bit but still need to redo some of it. I had the gate valve (main) drain line and the beanie line T'd together just before the roller mat and it's loud as all heck. Plan to just put the beanie line next to the emergency line in the middle section of the sump and hope that quiets everything down!

Definitely much cleaner though!
