so i was told that peppermints wont eat aipastias by them selfs, they need to be in a group. or if i dont want peppermints i could use aipastia x which is better than joes juice and other products.
anybody have dealings with either of these products??
i dont have a large out break of apaistias only 6-8 baby guys that i dont want multiplying anymore
any thoughts?
thanks

i don't like chemicals if you can do it naturaloy

i use bolth lol the pep shrimp didnt eat it so i use aptasia-x. just turn your pumps off of you use it. i highly recommend it.

the only issue i had with chemicals is that i cant get a direct hit into the mouth area with the "x" will it work well around the general area????

do you have to take out ather anemone

i had some close up on me and just sprayed it around it. and it killed it
i like this vid. shows how it works http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3NZXjxZaqo

but if you cover it up with it it will open up and eat it.

ive tried both aptaisia x and joes juice they both work well never tied peppermints but heard they are hit or miss

had a small out break of the aptaisia and got 2 of the peppermint shrimps, i had great success with the shrimps,as long as the aptaisia isnt to big.

thats what i was thinking as far as size may matter
i was told that the aipastias will sting the shrimp, so the shrimp gang up on it in a group taking turns nipping at it untill its weakend and then they can eat it. so i thought if the pest is small enough then maybe one or two shrimps can take care of it(however some larger aipastias could pose a threat) the other issue i considered is that i heard of the shrimp attacking zoos and other corals, if there is no other food source. any expereince with issues?

i have an aiptasia in the middle of a zoa colony i used the aiptasia x with no ill affect to anything. turn off all your flow and approach it slowly then when u get close squeeze a little out while you continue approaching it, it will grab the syringe and try to eat the little amount then give it a mouth full. i leave the flow off for 20 or so minutes. last time several zoas got covered in aiptasia x and closed till it was no longer covering them.

I had luck with a group of 3 Peps, also was successful w/ Joe's Juice as well.

never had any luck with peppermint shrimp, but I have with Joe's juice.
