Algae Free Sure Flow Mod

I had purchased 6 maxijet sureflow 1600 mods and 2 of them were not quieting down, even after over a month. So I gave an email to Algae Free telling them my problem and they sent me 6 upgraded replacement impellers at no charge. These impellers were specifically made to be used with the MJ1200 and were much larger/ more powerful then the original. Unfortunately, these upgraded power heads were all attached to my wavemaker which ended up snapping 4 of the 6 ball swivel mounts they were attached too in less then a week.

Lesson learned, Algae Free has great customer service. Unfortunately I was the guinea pig for their new large impellers. **WARNING TO ALL** Algae Free Sure Flow Mods now come with both the black (weak) impeller and the white (powerful) impeller. If you have them connected to a wavemaker DO NOT USE THE WHITE IMPELLERS while connected to the rotating ball mount they provide, or you will find your power head in your sandbed in short time.

No posting about stores other than the one in the title please

Someone from Algae Free read this experience here and called me leaving a voice message on my phone today. Unfortunately when I was listening to it I was in traffic and accidently deleted when I was trying to save because I missed about half of the message, including your name and number. Anyways from what he told me, the new Algae Free Mods that come with both impellers have an upgraded bracket that can withstand the the powerful impeller while on a wavemaker. He must of thought I already had the upgraded mounts when shipping. Just thought I'd update.

If someone from Algea free sees this post please email me. I am very upset. I just got home from Sea Creatures, it was as good as advertised, John was great! But when I started to set up my mod kit for the mj 1200(which is brand new tonight), I planned on using the white(big daddy) impeller, thats the reason I went with the "sureflow", so I had it in the tank ready, but when I started it the impeller kept jumping back and forth and when it went forward it hit the "backwards flow guard" and slammed to a stop so after messing with it and testing and testing over and over I finally put the black impeller in. The black one worked as far as the problem I was having before with the white one, but it was very NOISY!. So I played with it many times before I gave up. I'm buying the Seaflow tomorrow.
