Am I leakin' or freakin'?

Senior Toad Licker
Howdy, thanks again to the answers regarding MH. Came home today and noticed a layer of salt creep comimg from the bottom bracket of a All Glass 29tall tank. I've been sorta freakin' out good and bad. Good because I want a larger tank, 50 or 60 gallons, and this would be a good reason to upgrade. Bad because I have this nightmare of seeing 29 gallons of salt water in my downstairs neighbors livingroom. I've had my eyes glued to the tank and don't see a moist spot on the stand,... the "leak" is away from the overflow,... and even after wiping the salt creep away I still noticed a minute bit of moisture. Is this a leakin' or I'm just a freakin'? If it is a leak, I have no (gulp) expirence with loss the of structural integrity of my tank, could this be a forboding sign?
Thanks, NBL

Salt Creep on the lower frame of an aquarium is usually from drips foing down the front of it. It's usually caused from having your arms in the tank the night before.

Thanks SMcnally. Granted, I'm totally paranoid of the nightmare of a tank busting. It has been a couple days since I was in there. Also, looking down on the tank, from above, along the lengthwise top bracket, the glass bows out maybe 1/8", it's noticeable because the cover glass was cut square. Normal as well? Thanks NBL

A lot of tanks will bow
I have a 75g that someone ran without the center brace
I've been using it as a frag tank for almost 2 years
I re-connected a center brace & a partition, it still bows

I also had my drains "leak" after over a year. I tightened up the bushings & that resolved the issue.
Salt will "creep" ....

maybe the floor is just squeaken..

I was thinking.......
If your peakin is your reason for freakin & the floor is not squeaken. I suggest you leap in your bed & get some sleep in.
