Angel picking at acan

I got a lemon peel angelfish over the weekend and he's been picking at my acan causing it to refrain from extending. I currently have the acan under one of those plastic breeder containers. Is there anything I can do to keep both living happy together? I assume I need to get rid of one or the other, but my concern is he may start munching on other coral and ultimately I end up having to get rid of the angelfish.

Angels can be a problem in reef with LPS and SPS and molusks. Dwarf angels are hit and miss. Some may be no issue for months then suddenly one day, it may pick on your corals.

+1 - I wouldn't have an angel in a reef tank.

Hmm I see angels all the time in reefs. Is there some other way to deter them com picking at corals? Maybe clipping a piece of nori and increase feeding to keep him full and happy?

a lot of people do have angels in reefs. But, as stated above, they are hit or miss. IMO, not worth the headache when trying to catch it out of your fully stocked tank when it decides that the one coral it wants to eat is that brand new designer acro you just bought for 150/inch.

I've had a very hard time keeping many "reef safe" invertebrates with Acans and the Acans always end up getting picked on.

I ended up having to setup an LPS focused tank for the Acans separately with only Clowns and snails to see them go more than a month without being predated by neighbors.

I tried to physically isolate the corals and to over-feed other critters in the tank to keep them from eating the Acans, but it was a losing battle.

So from the responses it seems I should look for a new home for the angelfish. It's too bad because it's prob my fav fish and I was hesitant even buying it because of bad luck I've had wth most fish over the years.

Lemonpeels are notorious coral eaters unfortunately. If you like your corals, you will need a new home for it
