Another tank question

The tank that I am picking up is not drilled for return but drilled for the overflow. Will that be a problem or is it fine having return pipe go on the outside. Would you still reccomended buying it?

Where are you buying a tank that is drilled for overflow but not a return? Is this a used tank?

Either way, you can have the return outside the tank and have it come over the top. Things to consider are the stand the tank will be on, extra distance required between the tank and the wall, etc.

Yes...
Especially the extra distance away from the wall the tank will need to be because of plumbing.

Yes buying used from fellow reefer. I guess he had return on outside because he created a waterfall effect. I just wanted to make sure it was not a bad choice.
