ive not seen it at the depot and i am not sure other places to get it. But i think i recall reading somewhere that the black stuff leaches phosphates. I may be wrong but something to consider/research first.

A lot more $ than the white crate! But it must be worth just for the none algae growth alone. I couldn't find anything about it leaching chemicals into the water.
